Responsibilities
IoT Infrastructure, Edge & Shopfloor Connectivity
- Deploy, maintain, and support edge devices, sensors, and industrial communication networks across shopfloor machinery and facility systems.
- Support the onboarding of new machines, equipment, and facilities onto the company’s IoT platform.
- Configure and maintain industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPCUA, MQTT) for reliable data extraction.
- Execute regular firmware, software, and security updates on edge hardware, servers, and connected gateways.
Application Development & Data Visualization
- Design and develop custom applications and dashboards to visualize real- time shopfloor data from IoT systems, driving actionable operational insights.
- Build user-centric software tools (using languages like Python, C++, or low-code industrial suites like PTC ThingWorx) to connect shopfloor workflows with higher- level IT/OT systems.
- Explore and integrate Augmented Reality (AR) or Computer Vision applications to overlay digital IoT data onto physical shopfloor operations.
Operational Monitoring & Incident Resolution
- Continuously monitor system health and troubleshoot end-to-end data flow issues—from physical sensors up to cloud-based dashboards.
- Investigate and resolve incidents regarding network connectivity, data quality, system performance degradation, and hardware failures.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including asset inventories, network topology diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Develop business cases (ROI, NPV, operational impact) for new IoT and digitalization initiatives.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, central IT, and external vendors to ensure IoT solutions are secure, scalable, and standardized across sites.
- Conduct training sessions and deliver continuous support to end-users on the shopfloor.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Aviation MRO, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation environments.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Programming: Proficient in at least one programming language (preferably Python or C++) for software/application development.
- Industrial Protocols: Strong understanding of industrial networking and protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, MQTT).
- Systems Administration: Practical knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- IoT Platforms: Experience with industrial IoT tools such as PTC Kepware, PTC ThingWorx, or similar platforms is a strong advantage.
- AR/VR & Vision: Experience in Unity (for AR/VR application development) or Computer Vision is a plus.
- Networking & Security: Basic knowledge of industrial network architecture, remote device management, and OT cybersecurity practices.
