Responsibilities
Software Application Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and backend services.
- Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
- Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Perform code reviews and follow software development best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
Cloud Application Development
- Develop and deploy applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
- Work with cloud services such as:
- AWS: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS/SNS.
- Azure: App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, API Management, Azure Monitor, Key Vault.
- Design applications to take advantage of cloud scalability, availability, resiliency, and security.
- Implement cloud-native and/or containerized application architectures.
- Configure and manage application environments across development, testing, staging, and production.
DevOps and CI/CD
- Work with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Use tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep/ARM templates.
- Monitor application deployments and resolve deployment-related issues.
Application Security
- Develop applications according to secure coding practices.
- Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and appropriate access controls.
- Work with cloud IAM services to ensure least-privilege access.
- Identify and address application vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Support compliance with organizational security and data protection requirements.
Performance, Monitoring and Reliability
- Monitor application health, availability, performance, and resource utilization.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to identify and resolve issues.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and problem management.
- Implement appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability mechanisms.
Database and Data Integration
- Design and develop applications using relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, or similar technologies.
- Develop efficient queries and data access components.
- Integrate applications with messaging systems, external APIs, and enterprise systems.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and software development activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, API documentation, deployment guides, and system design documentation.
- Contribute to technical standards, coding guidelines, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in software application development.
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as:
- Java
- C#
- Python
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- Go
- Experience developing REST APIs, web applications, backend services, or microservices.
- Practical experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Good understanding of cloud computing concepts, including:
- Compute
- Storage
- Networking
- Databases
- IAM/security
- Monitoring and logging
- Scalability and high availability
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and automated software deployment.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle and testing practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
- Microsoft certification such as Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
Shortlisted candidates will be offered a 1 Year agency contract employment.
