Responsibilities
1. System Maintenance & Support
- Daily checking on system status and updates to users for any faults observed.
- Perform routine maintenance on servers, applications, and system infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and health using monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, hardware faults, and software issues.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime.
- Conduct system checks, patching, updates, and performance tuning.
- Respond to incidents promptly and perform corrective actions.
3. Infrastructure Management
- Support administration of Windows/Linux servers, storage systems, and network components.
- Maintain configuration, documentation, and inventories for system components.
- Assist in implementing upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
4. Security & Compliance
- Apply security patches, hotfixes, and system hardening procedures.
- Monitor logs for anomalies, potential security issues, or non-compliance.
- Ensure systems comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and industry standards.
5. Access Log Review
· Regularly review logs from servers, applications, network devices, and cloud platforms.
· Identify failed login attempts, multiple login failures, or logins outside normal hours.
· Monitor for privilege escalation or unusual access patterns.
6. Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Recommend and implement automation scripts to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions.
- Support optimisation of system performance and resource utilisation.
6. Collaboration & Coordination
- Work with cross-functional teams (Software Developers, network, cybersecurity, vendors).
- Coordinate with external service providers for repairs or escalations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users when needed.
Requirements
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 2–5 years in system support, system maintenance, or IT infrastructure roles.
- Experience working with Windows systems administration, applications, and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), storage systems, and backup solutions.
- Understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Scripting experience (PowerShell/Python) is a bonus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure when handling system incidents.
Shortlisted candidates will be offered a 1 Year Agency employment contract.
