Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to Newgen OmniApp.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) to understand new requirements and translate them into migration plans.
  • Work with BAU teams to analyze legacy data and define a robust migration strategy.
  • Design and implement secure file transfer processes using SFTP.
  • Develop and maintain data mapping and UI screen mapping documentation.
  • Develop and maintain Migration strategy plan document and cutover plan.
  • Fine-tune migration scripts and stored procedures in collaboration with the Newgen application development team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues with support from Newgen and internal teams.
  • Integrate and utilize RESTful APIs to support data exchange, validation, and automation during migration.
  • Collaborate with the Newgen development team to align API endpoints with migration logic and business rules.
  • Ensure API-based data transfers are secure, efficient, and compliant with government standards.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and shell scripts for ETL processes.
  • Administer and tune Azure SQL Managed Instances, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.
  • Perform DBA tasks such as backup/restore, indexing, performance tuning, and access control.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Lead a team of 2 migration engineers and act as Scrum Master to drive Agile delivery.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Engage with the QA team to support UAT testing, defect triage, and test data preparation.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to validate migration outcomes and resolve issues.
  • Create and present deployment forms and migration documentation in CAB meetings.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration strategy, scripts, mappings, API integrations, test results, and deployment plans.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and manage risks and issues proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science with 7+ years of experience in data migration, ETL, and database administration.
  • Certifications in Azure, Data Migration, Scrum, or Database Administration
  • Experience in .NET development or integration.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance and cloud database services.
  • Experience in workflow application development or migration.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs for data integration and automation.
  • Deep understanding of Java-based applications, IBM FileNet, and Newgen OmniApp.
  • Experience with SFTP and secure file transfer protocols.
  • Proven experience in Agile methodologies and Scrum leadership.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with Azure GCC 2.0 and government cloud compliance standards.
  • Experience working with government agencies or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Newgen Table structures and workflow configurations.
